Rolfing® + Shiatsu – Beyond Relaxation
With my Rolfing® + Shiatsu treatment, you can experience what I call “Beyond Relaxation” – a state which is similar to the quietness of Zen, also known as Zen Stillness.
In your session, I create what might be called a “mind/body field of transformation,” in which the state of stillness can emerge.
As it is created, I enter the state of stillness with you and keep it maintained.
Through the process, I facilitate your exploring yourself in your own way. No two people are the same, so everyone’s experience is unique.
Some people might feel a sense of sadness or even fear as negative energy from suppressed experiences is released and cleared, while others might experience joy, serenity or a newly found sense of courage. It is also not uncommon for people to spontaneously speak or move during the process.
“All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present. Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry – all forms of fear – are caused by too much future, and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.”
Eckhart Tolle
When we reach a certain point in the process, an even deeper state of quietness or stillness emerges, similar to the emptiness spoken of by Zen masters. In my own practice, I call this “the point a vibrational singularity.” In it, your innate self-healing potential can be activated.
At this moment, you will experience a state between meditation and sleep, as if your true nature is emerging or you are returning to your source and resonating with nature.
In this unique state you can stay firmly rooted in the present, without the normal ceaseless flow of unnecessary thoughts. It becomes possible to cut off both past experience and expectations for the future and just be here in the now.
This is the experience I call “Beyond Relaxation”. It is very effective for correcting imbalances in your body-mind-spirit and for maintaining and promoting your overall health and well-being.
